— The people who make your windows

Fourteen hands.
One workshop.

No subcontracted fitters, no white-labelled imports. The person who measures your window is the joiner who builds it and the fitter who installs it.

Mark Whitcombe
Founder & surveyor Mark Whitcombe
— A few words from the founder
“A sash window is the simplest piece of joinery in a London house — and the easiest to get wrong. Get the profile right, the timber right, the glazing line right, and you have a thing that lasts a lifetime. Get any of them wrong and the house tells on you for the next forty years.”

Mark is a third-generation joiner. He founded WNDW in 2008 with a single 18th-century sash from a Bloomsbury terrace. He still measures every job over £30k personally.

— How we work together

Four ways we operate.

It's a small team. Things move quickly. Here's how we keep the standard up.
  1. 01

    One job, one foreman

Every project has one named person responsible for the workshop output. They sign off, they handle snags.

  2. 02

    Apprentices on every floor

Two apprentices in the workshop and one with the install team at all times. We grow our own.

  3. 03

    No agency labour

Every fitter on a WNDW van is on a WNDW payroll. We don't use day-labour.

  4. 04

    Friday workshop tour

Every fortnight, the team walks every active project together. Defects caught early.
